BJP Takes Action Against Member Over Serious Allegations
Following the emergence of a serious complaint, the BJP's state unit has taken swift action, expelling Prabhat Yadav from the party. This decision, directed by high-ranking officials, was announced by district president Bhupendra Chauhan, who cited indiscipline as the reason for Yadav's immediate dismissal from all party roles.
According to Bijnor’s Chandpur circle officer Desh Deepak, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in response to the doctor’s allegations, and the police are currently investigating the situation based on the evidence at hand. The FIR accuses Yadav of multiple offenses under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 123, 308(2), 351(3), and 75(2). The first section pertains to claims that the doctor was given an intoxicating substance as part of the alleged misconduct.
Section 308(2) addresses extortion, stemming from accusations that the complainant was coerced for money through the use of compromising images and videos. Additionally, Section 351(3) relates to criminal intimidation, while Section 75(2) concerns sexual harassment and exploitation, which are integral to the doctor’s claims. Police have stated that further actions will be determined based on their investigation's findings.
In response to the allegations, Yadav has categorically denied any wrongdoing, labeling the claims as unfounded. He insists that he had a familial relationship with the doctor and suggested that he is the target of a political conspiracy, alleging that another party leader has been using his name to intimidate the doctor. As the police inquiry continues, political implications are beginning to unfold.
The controversy has ignited a debate among opposition parties, challenging the BJP's integrity. Inside the party, tensions are rising, with a faction reportedly convening to discuss the allegations against Yadav. A BJP official revealed that a young party member who initially accused Yadav later retracted his statement, leading to the formation of a three-member committee to investigate the claims. The expulsion of Yadav appears to have followed the submission of this inquiry report.
